If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you will be sent a letter informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.
You can also complete our appointment cancellation notification request form. This can only be used if your appointment has been arranged for more than 24 hours in advance. (excluding weekends and public holidays). You can also text to cancel your appointment.

What is the Electronic Referrals System?
E-Rs is a service that lets you choose the hospital or Clinic you wish to attend for your first appointment. It also gives you the choice of date and time that is convenient for you to fit in with your day to day life.
Click here for more information and to access the E-referral system
How e-Referrals works?
When you and your GP agree that you need an appointment with a specialist, e-Referrals shows your GP which hospitals or clinics are available for your treatment. Sometimes they are able to book an appointment for you during the consultation and give you the appointment details then.
If this is not possible owing to availability or time constraints then an Appointment Request is raised on the e-referral system and an Appointment Request letter is printed off which lists your unique booking reference number, your NHS number and a list of hospitals or clinic options for your to choose from. It also gives you a password with your appointment request letter. This is then given to you in the consultation, left for you to collect at reception or sent to you subsequently by post. Once you have received your paperwork you can then decide how you wish to book your appointment; this can be via the telephone, using the national number on the letter or via the internet. Please note that whilst the vast majority of appointments can be booked this way, in some cases you will need to telephone your chosen hospital directly to make your appointment. This is because the hospital appointments system does not link to e-Referral System.
A referral letter is then dictated by the GP and this is passed to the secretary for typing and then this is linked to your appointment electronically so that it can be viewed by your specialist.
Can I book all my appointments through e-Referral System?
When you and your GP agree that you need an appointment with a specialist, you can book your FIRST hospital or clinic appointment using e-Referral System if available. Any follow up appointments are arranged by the hospital themselves. Find out more about Hospital Appointments.

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception between 08:00 - 11:30.
You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. Your GP will only visit you at home if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to enable the doctor to schedule house calls. Please bear in mind that currently the Covid restrictions may not alwasy allow us to carry out these visits. A member of staff may triage you over the telephone and then relay the delays to the relveant clinicians and wil get back in touch with you with the outcome.
You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
